    Default Questions.

    Hi,
As i was not allowed to ask questions in the group chat for some reason.
I had to post this thread.

Why aint the stats shared among the servers on EU like between maps and such?
Also i hear everyone say that a public scramble command can be abused but none really says how.

So how can it be abused?

    nom nom

Group Chat is really for reporting incidents on servers, people breaking rules etc, and not for general questions.

I am sure the technical boffins will comment on shared stats, I have no idea, however as for public scramble, even without knowing much about it, I can see how it could be "abused" in much the same way as !votekick can be

That dont really describe it very well.
Could you future explain what you mean with drawing a parallel with scramble and kick?

Because different maps play differently and have completely different opportunities for point scoring, hence we like to compare apples with apples.

By pubbers calling for it constantly if they lose a point or even if they die, it's just too disruptive.

Group chat is for reporting issues that are of immediate concern. If someone has a pornographic spray/is speedhacking/is abusive in chat/etc., it needs to be dealt with immediately and the steam group provides easy access to a number of people able to promptly deal with these issues.

Regarding shared stats, with the number of servers we have running in Australia it makes far more sense for the servers to be diveded into mode-specific "groups" within which statistics can be shared and maintain relevence; clearly varied game modes have different aspects that result in significant statistical differences, and comparing the stats of players on dustbowl instaspawn with those of players on arena would serve no useful purpose. I, personally, am largely unversed on our European operations and can't comment specifically on that division, however I would imagine the logic is the same (and consistency across the board is a positive thing).

Public scramble is a tricky one. Issues arise when it is overused/abused by any people who may want to scramble just because their team is losing/they want to mess up other people's gaming/whatever. The remedy to this is to increase the number of votes required to initiate a scramble, however this can result in it being nigh on useless as getting that much cohesion within a group of gamers is tricky at the best of times.

But with a high % (like 65-75) it wouldn't pass the vote and it could have like a 3 min cooldown.
I find that less abusive then one person going in and reporting that the teams are uneven and then some admin just comes in and scramble and leave (thats how its currently is).

Well over all the servers we have here in AU/NZ we never scramble, it really isn't an issue.

So when a team just steamrolls another team making people leave the servers just because its so extremly unfair teams its perfectly fine on AU/NZ?
No offense but its a really strange way to scramble to by making people leave and never come back because the teams are so unfair?
    Personally i hate 2 things
    1. is that when its too damn easy
    2. when i have to carry the entire team alone

both of these things happens alot of gamersUN.

    Edit:
I could however see how less skilled people might find no scramble great as then they could just ride with a team and is steamrolling.
But i think the more skilled players might find it boring/annoying by the fact that there is no scramble at all.
Edit2: it would also mean that stats ain't really required as some of the people will just gain their stats because they was in the correct team and not by skill.

The winning team is generally (although not as much as it used to be, with the baddie weapons going around these days) the more "skilled" one, and the better players within that team will generally score higher and get the most points. Or am I missing something here?

Yeah you missing the point that when i talk about steamroll you cant run around and kill people and gain point.
Its more like you get "raped" basically you cant do anything at all.
Because either something of this happens:
    1. Their team cap the intel so fast that it takes like 2 mins for one round
    2. Their team spawncamps the spawn you cant get out.
    3. They massacre the entire team and you cant kill 5 people alone.

Even if you are skilled you cant be skilled enough to kill a entire team alone. (without some crits)

The current options you have is following:
    1. Leave the server and join some other.
    2. Join spec and then join the winner team.
    3. Ask admins for scramble and hope for the best.

    Edit:
So basically its like there is like 5-7 (of 9) 3000+ (in stats) in a team vs 1000/ less then 1000 and maybe one or two high rating 3000+
This make the team highly unequal as many of the 1000 or less then 1000 are really bad players that don't know the basics of the maps. Sometimes they even join and afk making it even worse and most of the time there is 2 player advantage to the winner team because somehow the autoscrambler don't scramble that.
This is why specially during peak hours the team mostly get stacked and unequal.
These teams can go on for 2-5 rounds and sometimes more during peak hours as people join to fill in the people leaving the losing team.
Some people also join spec to stack join the winner team to make it even more unequal.

Edit2: I played 18 hours on this server and i find it strange that no admin see this. When i seen this like 10+ times while i been playing.
